Just have the federal government make the monthly payments on all foreclosures. Boot the occupants to the street and put a for sale sign in the yard.

Well, as long as the government is propping up the economy, why not? Of course there’s no way the government is going to prop up small business people like us, so it’s all just for giggles.

In the end my real feeling is that we have a government against the people, on top of the people, and at war with the people.

Restoring regulations is the best path in this environment. It will be interesting to see how the package works its way through Congress, and what will it finally be.

Well, what happens to people who can’t qualify now? And equally to the point, will artificially propping up housing prices help them?

Sorry if I’ve become a free marketeer. I’m not, really. I think we should restore the regulations that Clinton and the Republican Congress dismantled, then go from there — not listen to my dumb ideas.

Alright, that was reasonable, but we are discussing the government, so reason does not have anything to do with it

Of the current plan, I feel that there could be ways for the taxpayers to come out well, but partisan fighting is leaving us with parts which could loose us (the taxpayers) money. Of your plan, what will happen with the other 48% who would not qualify? We should accept that some people cannot afford a home, but at this time, we are probably have to do something to guide them out of their current situation. For better or not, we will have to deal with them.

Nice plan…BUT what if buyers are not getting off the fence? Maybe your plan could include a temporary buydown or something to entice them with a more attractive mortgage rate?
